That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Set in the rolling countryside just outside Padstow and Wadebridge, The Pickwick Inn & Oliver's Restaurant feels like the sort of place North Cornwall does exceptionally well… relaxed pub atmosphere, big estuary views and the sense that the day naturally slows down once you arrive.

Dogs are welcome inside in the bar area, which makes it a genuinely useful stop after Camel Trail rides, beach walks or long coastal wanders where everyone is ready for a proper sit-down. There’s a cosy dog-friendly snug, seasonal menus and a strong focus on local Cornish produce, from seafood specials to generous pub classics.

The setting gives it that “hidden away but still easy to reach” energy, with countryside calm only a short drive from Padstow’s busier harbour scene. It works brilliantly for slower lunches, evening meals and those rainy Cornwall days where somewhere warm with dogs welcome inside suddenly becomes the entire mission.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside in the bar area and out in the beer garden at The Pickwick Inn, making it an easy post-walk or post-beach settle without splitting the pack. Free treats on the bar, water bowls and an outside dog water station help keep furry visitors happily refuelled while humans get distracted by the food menu.
