The Pot Place is a fully stocked garden centre on Station Yard in Plumpton, just off the A6 between Carlisle and Penrith.

Dogs are welcome inside the garden centre areas, including the gift shop and garden shop, so your lead-tangling companion can help you choose from thousands of plants, pots, garden buildings and gifts. It's a large destination centre that makes a genuinely useful stop for Lake District visitors driving the A6 or M6 corridor, particularly if you're heading to or from Ambleside and need supplies, inspiration or a break without leaving your dog in the car. There's also a tea room on site.

Dogs are welcome in the School Room, though access across the whole café isn't confirmed, so it's worth asking when you arrive if you're planning to settle in for a cup of tea.
