The Puffin's Burrow

The Puffin’s Burrow is a proper little Seahouses treasure for anyone who likes their seaside memories to come home with them, not just stay in the camera roll. It’s a gift shop with a big soft spot for the local wildlife theme (yes, puffins feature heavily), which feels very on-brand when you’re this close to the Farne Islands and all that “look, a seabird!” excitement.

It’s a great stop for dog-holiday pacing too, because it’s the kind of place you can dip into during the quieter moments, between harbour wandering, beach walks, and the inevitable “can we sit down for five minutes” request after you’ve done more steps than you planned. Inside you’ll find a mix of gifts and souvenirs, with plenty of small items that make easy presents, plus bits that are perfect for treating yourself because you’ve been the one carrying the lead, the water, the snacks, and the emergency towel.

If you’re staying in Seahouses for a few days, it’s a nice one to keep in your back pocket for a gentle browse when the wind picks up, or when the dog has finally settled and you’ve got a rare calm moment to wander slowly. Think cheerful, coastal, and very giftable.
