The Queens is a village pub in Burley-in-Wharfedale, a few miles from Ilkley and useful for walkers exploring the Wharfe Valley. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in together over food and drinks without the usual pub-door negotiation.

The kitchen serves food Wednesday to Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes and the pub opens daily from 4pm. It's the kind of practical village stop where you can arrive muddy from a river walk and no one minds.

CAMRA confirms dogs are welcome in the room to the left and the pub's own page says they're dog friendly. Burley sits close enough to Ilkley Moor and the riverside paths to make this a sensible refuelling stop when you've underestimated how long a dog will spend investigating one interesting gatepost.
