The Recruiting Sergeant is a welcoming pub on the Norwich-to-Broads edge, handy for Horstead and Coltishall. Dogs are welcome inside the bar, so the whole group can settle in together while you choose from the kitchen's full menu. Water bowls are provided outside for arrivals and departures.

The pub is open Monday to Saturday noon until 11pm and Sunday noon until 10pm, with food served until 8.30pm on weekdays and Saturdays and until 8pm on Sundays. It's a reliable stop whether you're exploring the Broads or need a meal that doesn't leave anyone on pavement duty.

The venue also offers rooms, making it a practical base for longer stays with your dog. The bar welcomes dogs at any time during opening hours and the kitchen keeps sensible hours for lunch and dinner without the usual mid-afternoon gap.
