Days Out Are For Dogs Too

The Red Lion in Bakewell is a proper town-centre pub with that easy, dependable feel you want after a wander through the Peaks, a potter round Bakewell, or a day that started with "just a short walk" and somehow became a full expedition.
Inside, it's warm, relaxed and pleasingly unfussy, with plenty of traditional pub comfort and a friendly welcome for dogs. Four-legged visitors are well looked after too, with water in abundance and doggy treat jars for customers to help themselves to. There are also treats available to buy, so the dog does not have to pretend they came purely for the atmosphere.
It's the kind of place that works for a quick drink, a slower sit-down, or that post-walk pause where everyone quietly agrees not to move for a bit.
