The Royal Oak is a beautifully restored 18th-century inn that delivers exactly the sort of warm, polished pub experience many dog owners hope to find in Oxford. Home-cooked food, a broad drinks list and a welcoming atmosphere make it a natural choice for lunch, brunch or a longer dinner stop once the walking is done. It feels traditional without being tired, and comfortable without losing its sense of occasion.

For a dog-friendly outing that ends with a proper pub pause, it lands the mood very well.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome here, and the pub’s own site calls it dog-friendly, so brunches, lunches and cosy pub stops can absolutely include your four-legged sidekick. Bring the good manners, keep the pub charm high, and let the open fire do the dramatic work.
