The Rummer Tavern is a historic pub right in the centre of Cardiff, directly opposite Cardiff Castle. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in for a proper visit without splitting up or leaving anyone outside.
Food is served and with opening hours running from 11am Monday to Thursday and Sunday afternoon through to late on Friday and Saturday, there's plenty of scope for a castle-wander pint stop or a longer meal. Inside, it's a traditional Cardiff pub with the sort of central location that makes it genuinely useful when you're exploring the city with a dog.
The indoor dog-friendly policy means wet paws and sudden rain aren't a problem and nobody has to miss out while the others eat. Open Monday to Thursday 11am–11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am–midnight and Sunday noon–9pm, The Rummer Tavern offers both drinks and food in a dog-welcoming setting that works for visitors and locals alike.
