The Running Fox in Longhoughton is a bright, welcoming café near the Northumberland coast, well placed for post-walk coffee, cake, breakfast, lunch or a full afternoon tea stop. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle after a coastal wander.

It has a more modern feel than some of the other Running Fox sites, with homemade food, a gift and homeware shop, and the kind of easy, linger-a-bit atmosphere that suits coastal dog days very well.

Whether you're stopping in after a sandy sprint or sheltering from Northumberland weather, it's the sort of café where paws, noses and hopeful eyes are all part of the experience.
