The Sloop Inn is a proper coastal pub in Porthgain, a tiny harbour village about seven miles from St Davids. Dogs are welcome inside the bar area during winter and food is served throughout the day, so you and your muddy crew can settle in after a windblown stretch of the coast path.

The pub opens daily from 9:30am until 10pm, with hot meals served from midday through to 9pm. Whether you're starting early or finishing late, there's space for wet paws and tangled leads alongside the usual harbourside walkers.

Porthgain sits right on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, so this is a natural stop for anyone tackling the cliffs with a dog in tow. The bar welcomes the whole group in the colder months and the food service runs long enough to catch most walking schedules.
