The Sportsman is a neighbourhood pub on the east side of Durham where dogs are welcome inside. You can settle in with your dog for a pub lunch or an evening pint, with food served throughout the week and screens for those match days when you need a seat and a side order of distraction.
The pub sits about two miles from the city centre, making it a useful stop for visitors exploring the Belmont area or heading along the A690 corridor. It's a straightforward, local-pub atmosphere with no fuss and a reliable dog-friendly door policy.
Open Monday to Thursday 11am–11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am–midnight and Sunday noon–11pm. Food is served in the dog-friendly indoor area, so the whole group can eat together while your dog supervises proceedings from under the table.
