The Thirsty Pine Beer Cafe brings something a bit different to Gloucester city centre: part craft beer bar, part coffee shop, part live music venue, and very much its own thing. Set on Brunswick Road in the former Jax nightclub, it has been transformed into a big, characterful space with plenty of seating, a main bar, a specialist Belgian beer bar, and a stage for live music and events.

Beer lovers are especially well looked after here, with a huge range of craft beer, cask ale, cider and Belgian bottles behind the bar. It is the kind of place that works for a daytime coffee, a proper pint, a catch-up with friends, or one of those evenings where “just one drink” quietly turns into staying for the music.

Dogs are welcome inside too, with water and treats available for four-legged visitors. The Thirsty Pine is clearly happy to have dogs through the door, making it a useful city-centre stop when you want somewhere relaxed, independent and properly dog-friendly, not just “fine, but please don’t breathe near the furniture.”
