The Thomas Tallis Alehouse is one of Canterbury's go-to spots for people who take their drinks seriously… but not themselves. Tucked along St Radigunds Street, it's all about choice, with over 30 beers available at any one time across cask, keg, bottles and cans. The lineup is constantly changing too, so every visit feels a bit different, and there's always something new to try. Dogs are welcome inside, so they can join you while you work your way through the taps.

It's not just beer either. There's a strong supporting cast of wines, including local options from Barnsole Vineyard, plus prosecco and a rotating selection of Kent ciders that showcase just how good local producers are. It's the kind of place where you go in for one and end up sampling a few, purely in the name of research.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, more about discovery and conversation than anything polished or formal, making it an easy place to settle in with a pint and a patient dog who's likely decided they've found their new favourite spot too.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while you work through the taps. Leads appreciated to keep hopeful noses out of other people's pints.
