Right in Windermere village, it offers homemade dishes, fish, burgers, pizzas, salads, cocktails and coffee, which makes it a very useful catch-all stop when the group cannot quite agree what kind of meal this is. It lands as relaxed and reliable rather than flashy, which is often exactly what you want after a day of hills, weather and hungry-dog logistics.
