The Tollgate is a Greene King pub on Fornham Road, just west of Bury St Edmunds town centre and dogs are welcome inside in the bar areas. It's a handy stop for a proper meal or a drink when you're out with the dog, with food served throughout the day and well into the evening.
The kitchen runs from 11:30am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and until 8:30pm on Sundays, so there's plenty of scope for lunch, dinner or an earlier bite. Dogs are kept on a lead in both the inside and outside seating areas and you can settle in together while food arrives.
It's a practical west-side pub for town-edge visitors, with straightforward access and the reassurance that the whole group can stay together. No fuss, just a solid Greene King welcome and a table where the dog can supervise proceedings.
