The Twelve Taps

The Twelve Taps is a craft beer, gin and cocktail bar on Whitstable High Street, where dogs on leads are welcome inside. With twelve rotating keg lines, an extensive gin selection and their own exclusive Whitstable Gin, it is a proper drinks-focused stop rather than a dining destination — though salty snacks are on hand and you are welcome to bring a pizza from a nearby pizzeria.

Dogs can settle at your feet while you work through the taps, sample a flight of thirds or let the bar team guide you through the gins. There is no need for anyone to volunteer for pavement duty. A small courtyard garden opens at the back whenever the weather plays along. The bar is closed on Mondays; Tuesday to Thursday it opens at 5pm, Friday from 5pm, Saturday from 1pm and Sunday from 1pm.

Handy for the harbour and the High Street, The Twelve Taps makes a natural pit stop on a longer wander around town — and the kind of place where a dog under the table is entirely unremarkable.
