The Two Brewers is a historic pub on Canterbury Road in Whitstable — the oldest surviving pub in the town, dating back to 1690 — where dogs are welcome inside in the bar.

A proper local with real ales, pub classics and a large lawned beer garden, it sits slightly off the main visitor loop so it tends to be quieter than the waterfront options. The pub has its own car park to the front, which is a genuine bonus given how tight parking gets in Whitstable. Open Monday to Thursday from midday until 11pm, Friday and Saturday until midnight, and Sunday from midday until 3pm, it's a reliable stop whether you're heading into town or winding down after a coastal walk. Dogs are welcome in the bar; the separate restaurant area is for humans only, so worth bearing in mind if the group wants to split up.

With two bars, a pool table, a beer garden with a bat and trap pitch and an aviary, plus live bands on Sundays and a resident jazz band on Friday lunchtimes, there's plenty to keep everyone — four-legged or otherwise — occupied for longer than planned.

Good to know:

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome in the bar, so paws and people can settle in together — just note the separate restaurant area is a dog-free zone. Leads on at all times, please.
