The White Hart Inn

The White Hart Inn is a canal-side pub in Talybont-on-Usk, just outside Brecon, where dogs are welcome inside. It's a practical stop for walkers and boaters exploring the Brecon Beacons and the kind of place where your dog can settle under the table while you catch your breath and order lunch. Food is served Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays, from midday until 6.30pm.

The menu covers the essentials and the dog-friendly dining area means you won't need to split the group or eat in shifts. The canal towpath runs right past the door, so there's always a stretch of flat walking to add on either end.

Talybont-on-Usk sits on the quieter side of the valley and The White Hart makes a useful base for refuelling between longer walks or canal-side ambles. It's the sort of pub that understands wet paws and muddy leads and doesn't blink when you arrive with both.
