The Yew Tree Inn is a traditional country pub in the quiet village of Odstock, a few miles south of Salisbury. Dogs are welcome inside, so the whole group can settle in by the log fire without the pavement shuffle or car-park negotiations.
Food is served Wednesday to Saturday lunchtimes and evenings and Sunday lunch runs until 4pm. The menu leans into classic pub cooking with a cosy, welcoming feel that works just as well for a post-walk pint as a longer meal with the dog supervising from under the table.
There's a large on-site car park, which makes life easier when you're juggling leads, wellies and a dog who's keen to get inside. It's the kind of stop that suits both planned visits and spontaneous detours when you need a proper sit-down with everyone included.
