Days Out Are For Dogs Too

You’ll spot our Recommended Partner badge on some listings (opposite the venue name)
That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Tucked within the grounds of Thornbridge Estate, The Emporium feels like the sort of shop people wander into for "just a quick look" before emerging 20 minutes later clutching plants, gifts, local treats and several things they absolutely did not plan to buy. Part garden shop, part Peak District treasure hunt, it's packed with the kind of beautifully chosen bits that make slow wandering feel like an activity in itself.
Dogs are welcomed in too, which somehow makes the browsing experience even better. There are free treats waiting for visiting four-legged shoppers, plus extra dog treats available to buy for those who believe every good day out should end with a snack haul. Between the gardens, café and estate walks, it works brilliantly as one of those easy little pauses where humans browse shelves while dogs quietly supervise proceedings from floor level, occasionally hoping another biscuit appears from behind the counter.
Please note - The main entrance is on the A6020 Ashford to Hassop road - follow the BROWN signs. DO NOT use the postcode as it leads to the wrong entrance.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside on a lead as part of the wider dog-friendly Thornbridge Estate. Free treats are usually available for visiting dogs, with extra dog treats also available to buy in-store. 🐾
