That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Thornbridge Hall Estate has that rare “accidentally spent the whole afternoon here” quality. One minute it’s a quick wander through the grounds, the next you’re drifting between formal gardens, woodland paths, the café, the shop and a full house tour with a dog trotting happily alongside like they personally own the estate.

The scale of the place gives the whole visit a lovely rhythm to it. Dogs move from enthusiastic garden patrol to complete grass-based collapse while humans stretch out coffees, browse the shop for “one small thing” that somehow becomes three bags, and slowly absorb the kind of setting that makes ordinary days feel a bit more cinematic. Even the house tours welcome dogs, which changes the feel of the visit entirely. Instead of splitting up or rushing through, the whole day stays together from start to finish.

It’s grand without feeling stiff, relaxed without losing the sense that you’re somewhere genuinely special. Just gardens, fresh air, good pauses and a dog day out that keeps unfolding the longer you stay. 🐾

Please note - The main entrance is on the A6020 Ashford to Hassop road - follow the BROWN signs.
DO NOT use the postcode as it leads to the wrong entrance.
