Tregothnan River Garden Tea Tour is a bookable estate garden tour south of Truro, winding through tea plantations, river gardens, Kea plum orchards and jungle gardens on the Tregothnan estate. Dogs are welcome on leads along the outdoor route, so everyone can join the tour together without one person waiting behind with the dog. The tour finishes at the estate shop and parking is at The Woodshed car park near the Reading Room.
Booking is advised at least 24 hours ahead and the tour is entirely outdoors, which makes it a dog-first day out rather than a quick browse. The route takes in wildlife-sensitive areas, so dogs need to stay on the lead to protect the estate's natural visitors.
The outdoor format works well when you want a proper outing that does not rely on indoor-welcome guesswork or doorway negotiations. It is a rare chance to explore a working tea estate with a dog in tow and the lead-on policy keeps things straightforward for owners juggling bags, sniff breaks and a dog who is very interested in plum orchards.
