Trelissick is a National Trust estate just outside Truro, bringing together a historic house, garden, parkland and woodland walks in one dog-friendly day out. The house is open to assistance dogs only, but the rest of the estate is properly geared up for a full dog day. Lead rules vary by area: dogs need to be on a short lead in the garden and kept on a lead around the car park, main property and parkland.
The courtyard at Crofters offers outdoor seating where dogs are welcome, so you can sit down without splitting up the group. The shop is also dog-friendly, which means less doorway dithering and more relaxed browsing with a dog in tow.
It is the kind of estate that works well when you want more than a standard walk but still need proper outdoor space for a dog. You get woodland trails, parkland, a garden worth pausing in and facilities that understand not everyone can leave the dog tied up outside.
