Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels & Gardens

Ushaw is a grand heritage estate a short trip west of Durham, home to historic chapels, exhibition galleries and extensive gardens open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and some areas of the Main House, including the café corridor and temporary exhibition corridor, making it a proper day out where your dog can join you beyond the grounds. On-site parking is available, with accessible spaces by the East Entrance.

Dogs must stay on leads throughout the estate and aren't permitted in the chapels, permanent exhibition rooms, function rooms or ticketed tours and events. The policy is clear and well signposted, so you can plan your route with confidence and make the most of the areas open to you both.
