Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Indoor Welcome Last Verified:

Wensleydale Railway runs heritage trains through the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and Leyburn Station on Harmby Road is the current terminus of the line. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome on all normal scheduled trains, making this a brilliant day out for dog owners who want to share the journey rather than leave their dog behind. Dogs travel for £1 and can settle at your feet as the Dales scenery rolls past.
They're not allowed on dining or special-event trains such as afternoon tea services, so check the timetable before you book if you're planning a celebration trip. Normal scheduled services are fully dog-friendly.
The railway operates on scheduled running days with varying timetables, so it's worth checking when trains are running before you set off. Leyburn Station has direct car access and the railway's official dog policy makes it clear that your lead-wearing companion is part of the adventure.
