West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath

West Runton and Beeston Regis Heath is a National Trust heathland reserve just outside Cromer, offering dog owners wide open heathland, woodland trails and scenic viewpoints. There's free parking on site, making it a straightforward day out for dogs who love a proper sniff and stretch across natural Norfolk countryside. Dogs are welcome across the heathland, woods and trails, but must stay under close control at all times.

Between 1 March and 31 July, leads are required to protect ground-nesting birds, so plan your spring and early summer visits accordingly. Outside those months, well-behaved dogs can enjoy more freedom as long as they're reliably under control.

The site is close to both Cromer and Sheringham, so it's useful for breaking up a coastal day or giving restless paws a proper walk before heading to a dog-friendly café. Signed trails and the defined visitor layout make it easy to navigate, even when your dog has other plans.
