West Stow Country Park and Anglo-Saxon Village is a large managed day-out destination west of Thetford, combining open parkland, bird hides, lake and river edges with a reconstructed living-history village and museum. Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the country park, though only assistance Dogs can come in too the Anglo-Saxon village itself because livestock are present.

The country park offers woodland trails, wetland paths and plenty of outdoor sniff territory, with a dedicated car park making arrival straightforward. The Anglo-Saxon village opens daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with seasonal last-entry times, while the park keeps daily hours that shift with the seasons—check ahead if you're planning a late visit.

It's a fuller outing than a generic green space, especially if the humans want heritage alongside the walk. Your dog gets the outdoor freedom, the rest of the group gets the reconstructed settlement and everyone meets back at the car park without the juggling act of leaving someone behind.
