Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve is a Shropshire Wildlife Trust reserve on the edge of Ludlow, offering woodland walks, open common and views over the town and River Teme valley. Dogs are permitted across the reserve, making it a practical nearby green space for a short leg-stretch or longer ramble close to the centre.

The network of footpaths winds through mixed habitats, though you'll encounter steep slopes and steps in places. Open at all times, the reserve suits early-morning sniff patrols or an afternoon escape when town errands are done and everyone needs air.

Roadside parking is available on Whitcliffe Road at the viewpoint. The reserve sits within easy reach of Ludlow's cafés and pubs, so it slots in neatly as part of a town visit rather than a remote expedition.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Free treats available

Doggy menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are permitted across the reserve. The footpath network includes steep slopes and steps in places, so keep an eye on fitness and footing for both ends of the lead.
