Wilding Eatery in Canterbury is one of those cafés that feels like stepping into a slightly hidden world. Tucked along Mercery Lane just moments from the Cathedral, it blends a cosy, plant-filled interior with a relaxed, welcoming energy that makes it very easy to settle in and stay longer than planned. Dogs are very much part of the experience here, warmly welcomed inside so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle.
Food is fresh, simple and thoughtfully put together, with a menu that leans brunchy: sandwiches, paninis, breakfast bits and good coffee, all made with quality ingredients. There's a strong focus on inclusivity too, with vegan and gluten-free options always available, so it works for pretty much everyone without fuss. The space itself is part of the charm, slightly quirky, full of character and layered with little details, from cosy corners to a small garden area.
It's the kind of place that gives off that "accidental find that becomes your spot" feeling, and dogs are often greeted with water or treats, making it a proper stop where paws are included, not just tolerated.
