That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Wilfrid's Cafe in Ripon is exactly the kind of café that dog owners end up being very pleased they found. Dogs are welcome inside, so everyone can settle in together for proper Yorkshire breakfasts, coffee, tea and tempting cakes, all wrapped in a warm, homely atmosphere that sounds built for tired legs and table-side dog naps.

It works brilliantly after sightseeing or shopping, especially when everyone needs something comforting rather than hurried. The menu leans into hearty breakfasts and generous slices of cake, with good coffee and tea to match. Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am–4pm, weekends 8:30am–4pm (5pm Saturdays), closed Wednesdays.

For visitors with dogs, it has that lovely "we'll just stop for a drink" potential to become a full refuel with cake involved. Cosy, straightforward and very good at turning a Ripon wander into a much softer landing.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Keep them tucked in neatly, save any enthusiastic cake investigations for your own plate, and enjoy a cosy café stop together.
