Winchester Cathedral

Winchester Cathedral is a magnificent medieval cathedral in the heart of Winchester, open to visitors with well-behaved dogs on leads during general opening hours. Your dog can join you inside to explore the vast nave, historic stonework and exhibition areas, making it a rare opportunity to share a heritage day out together. Dogs are welcome Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 12.30pm to 3pm, but are not permitted at ticketed events, services, inside the Morley Library, the Crypt or the cathedral café.

You're limited to one dog per visitor and leads must be kept short at all times. Side chapels should be avoided if occupied for prayer.

The cathedral sits at 9 The Close in central Winchester, so you'll need to use city-centre parking rather than on-site facilities. It's a proper full-length visit for anyone who wants to keep their dog with them while soaking up one of England's most important medieval buildings.
