Windsor Great Park

Windsor Great Park is a 1,942-hectare historic Crown Estate just south of Windsor, offering one of the finest large-scale dog walks in the South East. Dogs are welcome across designated public areas of the park and wider estate, with clearly mapped off-lead zones where recall is solid, making it brilliant for energetic breeds and proper leg-stretching days out. Multiple car parks serve the estate—including Savill Garden, Virginia Water, Virginia Water South, Ranger's Gate and Cranbourne Gate—with charges applying and last entry at 7pm.

The park is open daily from 7am until dusk, with lakes, woodland and open parkland to explore. Dogs must stay on lead in car parks, around visitor centres, Obelisk Lawn, The Valley Gardens and The Deer Park and wherever signage requires, so pack a long line if you're planning a wander through those zones.

Dogs aren't permitted in The Savill Garden itself, The Savill Garden Visitor Centre, Virginia Water Pavilion or the shop, but the scale and variety of the estate more than makes up for it. This is a proper day out with the dog, not a quick loop.
