Winkworth Arboretum is a National Trust botanical garden near Godalming, officially listed under Windsor and open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Dogs on short leads are welcome year-round across the arboretum grounds and unusually for a National Trust site, they're also allowed inside the café and shop. It's the kind of place where you can explore seasonal woodland paths without leaving your dog tied outside when you need a tea stop.
The arboretum spans hillside trails and lakeside paths, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. On-site parking is available at the visitor centre—paid for non-members, free for National Trust members. Admission is charged for non-members and dogs must stay on short leads throughout the visit.
Whether you're planning a morning wander or a full afternoon among rare trees, the all-weather access and guaranteed indoor welcome make logistics refreshingly straightforward. The café and shop policy means no-one has to stand outside in the rain while the rest of the group warms up.
