Woodchester Park

Woodchester Park is a National Trust wooded valley estate near Nailsworth, with lakes, waymarked routes and a visitor café at Tinkley Gate. Dogs are welcome across most of the park's paths and trails, making it a generous outdoor day out where your dog can explore proper countryside rather than squeezed park corners. The grounds suit longer walks and sniff breaks through woodland and around the lakes, with on-site parking at both Buckholt and Tinkley Gate to get you started.

Lead restrictions apply in sensitive wildlife zones, near play equipment and on grazing tracks where livestock may be present and dogs must stay on lead at all times at Tinkley Gate itself. Some indoor seating at the café is also dog-friendly, so you can stop for a drink without leaving anyone in the car.

The park is open 24 hours daily, with Tinkley Gate car park access from 09:00–17:00 and the café serving 10:00–16:30. It's 13 miles from Cirencester and offers the kind of proper outdoor access that makes a dog day feel worth the drive.
