Ye Olde Beverlie in Canterbury is a proper historic pub on St Stephen's Green, with parts of the building dating back to the 16th century and roots as an old Hackington village inn. Dogs are welcome inside, so everyone can settle in together under the oak beams and low ceilings while the centuries-old floor becomes the perfect spot for a well-earned nap.
Inside, it leans fully into traditional pub charm—think hops hanging from the beams, a slightly timeworn character and that welcoming atmosphere built around being a true local rather than a polished destination. Food and drink keep things classic but well done, with a strong mix of ales, wines and a menu covering hearty pub favourites alongside a few more modern touches. There's also a sociable side, with quiz nights, events and the kind of community feel that turns a visit into a regular habit.
It's the sort of place that works equally well for a cosy drink by the fire or a longer, food-led visit, especially when you want something with a bit of history baked into it rather than just another pub stop.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside, so they can join you under the beams while you settle in. Keep them on a lead and tidy up muddy paws if the weather's been unkind.
