Who are Starfish & Coffee?

Starfish & Coffee is a multi-award winning independent neighbourhood cafe, located at Egremont Gate by beautiful Queens Park, Brighton, just a 10-15 minute walk from the Royal Pavilion.

It was founded in 2017 by former radio presenter Tony Marks after he reached a career crossroads.

A love of cafe culture (and a certain Prince track) inspired him to take over a local premises that had been empty for the best part of a year becoming the fourth tenant in a decade. To make it work in this notoriously difficult spot Tony knew he’d have to make it one of the very best cafes in the city.

In the Brighton Restaurant Awards 2025 (AKA The BRAVOs) Starfish & Coffee won the Best Cafe Award, came runner-up in the Best Team category and third place for Best Brunch. 🥇🥈🥉
