Acorn Bank is a National Trust garden and estate near Temple Sowerby, about 22 miles east of Keswick, offering woodland walks, historic gardens, estate paths and a watermill to explore. Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the woodlands and estate, though the formal walled gardens are off-limits to four paws. The café courtyard and café are also dog-friendly, so you can take a break together after a long mooching session through the trees.
The site works well for a half-day or full-day visit with a dog, with car parking on site and visitor facilities including the café and seasonal opening times. Dogs need to stay on a lead across the estate's public outdoor areas and assistance dogs are welcome in all garden areas.
The mix of woodland, estate paths and dog-friendly café makes it easier to keep everyone together and the lead-only policy keeps things predictable. The formal walled gardens are the one restricted zone, but there is plenty of ground to cover with a dog who enjoys a good woodland wander.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the woodlands and estate paths. The formal walled gardens are off-limits, but the café courtyard and café are dog-friendly, so wet noses can join you for a post-walk sit-down.
