Southport Botanic Gardens is one of the most loved green spaces in the area and has been part of Churchtown life since the 19th century. Often described as the “jewel in the crown” of Southport’s parks, it is known for its colourful planting, open lawns and peaceful walking paths. The gardens sit within a historic setting and remain open year-round, giving visitors a calm place for a wander away from the busier seaside centre. With floral displays, lakeside views and plenty of space to stretch the legs, it feels like the sort of park that invites slower strolls and longer pauses. Ideal for relaxed wandering, people-watching and a dog enjoying somewhere far more botanical than beach-snack scented.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome on the stroll, which makes this a lovely green-space wander for slower paws and slower humans. Expect sniffing, pottering and a dog enjoying a park that feels far more dignified than the average pavement mission.
