Days Out Are For Dogs Too

You’ll spot our Recommended Partner badge on some listings (opposite the venue name)
That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Brantwood is a historic house and gardens estate on Coniston Water, about 25 miles south of Keswick. Dogs are welcome on a lead in the gardens, woodland trails and Terrace Cafe, though not inside the historic house. The estate offers plenty of outdoor space for leads-on exploring, with gardens and woodland trails suited to a few hours of calm mooching.
The Terrace Cafe welcomes dogs too, so you can settle in for refreshment without anyone being left on pavement duty. Free parking is included during the day and the boat access adds an extra layer of lakeside usefulness for anyone planning a Coniston Water dog day.
It is the kind of place that keeps a dog day together without the usual cafe shuffle. The grounds-only access is clearly signposted, so there is no guesswork about where paws can and cannot go and the estate setting suits wet-weather wandering as much as sunny lakeside afternoons.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on a lead in the gardens and Terrace Cafe, so nobody misses out on the lakeside estate wander. Not allowed inside the historic house.
