Bryngarw Country Park is a well-established country park set in gardens and woodland near Porthcawl, with public outdoor trails, a visitor centre and a cafe. Dogs are welcome on lead throughout the park grounds, making it a proper day out for dog owners who want more than a quick walk around the block.
The park includes formal gardens, wooded paths and plenty of space for a leisurely circuit with your dog, though they're asked to stay out of the duck pond and Japanese Garden pond. There's an on-site car park with paid parking and the visitor centre and facilities open daily from 10:00 to 16:00 in winter and 10:00 to 17:00 in summer.
Leads are required throughout the park, so it's one for dogs who are happy to explore at a steady pace rather than charge about. The cafe is noted as dog-friendly, so you and your lead-juggling companion can refuel without splitting up.
