That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

We are Zsuzsanna and Brigitta, from Hungary. We are sisters, and we have been dreaming about opening a Cafe for many years. We would like to show that Hungarian Cuisine is much more than Goulash. That’s why we only serve traditional home made hungarian food and cakes.
Budapest Café is a warm, family-run spot bringing a slice of Hungary into Bristol, created by sisters Zsuzsanna and Brigitta after years of dreaming (and plenty of hospitality experience to back it up). It’s all about proper homemade food here, with traditional Hungarian dishes and cakes made from scratch using authentic ingredients.
There’s a real sense of care in everything that comes out of the kitchen, from rich, comforting plates to cakes that quietly steal the show. It feels personal in the best way, like you’ve stumbled into somewhere that’s been built on pride, skill and a lot of love for the food. Dogs settle in alongside you while you take your time, because this is very much a “sit, eat, and stay a while” kind of place.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside, so they can settle in while you work your way through something homemade and very hard to share. Just keep them close and relaxed in a smaller, cosy space where things move at a gentler pace 🐾
