Carew Castle & Tidal Mill is a major heritage attraction just a short drive from Tenby, bringing together a striking medieval castle, a restored tidal mill and all the room you need for a proper history-soaked dog day out. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads throughout the visitor areas, so you can explore the atmospheric ruins, wander the grounds and take in the mill's impressive working mechanism without leaving anyone in the car.

The site offers a tearoom, shop and picnic areas for the full family outing and there's parking on-site. Open all year, it's the sort of place that works in sunshine or drizzle, with plenty to keep both ends of the lead entertained.

Whether you're after a half-hour sniff around the stonework or a longer castle-and-river ramble, Carew delivers reliable dog-friendly access and genuine historical substance. The lead requirement keeps things calm and the grounds give you space to breathe between towers and tea.
