Dunster Castle and Watermill is a National Trust estate just outside Minehead, combining a medieval castle, riverside gardens, working watermill and wooded parkland. Dogs are welcome across the parkland, gardens, wider estate paths, river garden, South Terrace and watermill area on short leads, though only assistance dogs may go inside the castle building itself.

The grounds offer plenty to explore, from terraced gardens with views over the Bristol Channel to quiet riverside walks and the chance to see the restored nineteenth-century watermill. Short leads are required throughout, so you can keep your dog close while you wander the paths and take in the historic surroundings.

The site is open daily with seasonal variations and there's a National Trust car park on site—pay-and-display for non-members, with Blue Badge spaces available. It's a proper heritage day out that lets your dog join you for most of it, even if the castle interior remains off-limits.
