Gainsborough Old Hall

Gainsborough Old Hall is a magnificent medieval timber-framed hall in Gainsborough, about 18 miles from Lincoln and dogs on leads are welcome in the café and shop areas. The hall itself dates back to the 15th century, with a striking great tower and beautifully preserved interiors that tell the story of Tudor England. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout and ordinary pet dogs are permitted in selected areas only.

The café and shop offer a chance to pause with your dog after exploring the grounds and English Heritage confirms that picnics can be eaten outside with dogs, so bringing your own lunch is a practical option. The grounds are compact but pleasant for a short wander with your lead-trained companion before or after you explore the hall's history. The hall is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, with last entry at 4:15 pm.

There's no on-site parking, but free short-stay street parking is available nearby and the charged Riverside car park is about 100 metres away. A rewarding Lincolnshire heritage day out with your well-behaved dog.
