Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens

Gunby Estate is a National Trust historic house with 1,500 acres of gardens and parkland near Mablethorpe, making it a full-day destination for dog owners seeking culture, space and fresh air. The estate features a Grade II listed hall, formal gardens, an Orchard Gallery and a second-hand bookshop, with generous grounds for proper walks and a tea-room on site. Dogs on short leads are welcome throughout the gardens, grounds, parkland walks, Orchard Gallery and second-hand bookshop.

The mix of cultivated gardens and open parkland lets you choose between a structured wander and a proper sniff-about, with marked routes across the estate leading to an ice house pond and the remains of a lost medieval village. The house is open Saturday to Thursday, 11am–2.30pm (last entry 1.50pm), closed Fridays except school holidays, while gardens, tea-room, gallery and bookshop are open daily 10am–4pm. Assistance dogs only are permitted inside the house and tea-room serving area.

National Trust admission applies unless you're a member, and free parking is available on site. With space to roam, indoor galleries and a bookshop where dogs can join you, plus shelter when weather turns, it ticks most boxes for a rewarding Lincolnshire visit with leads and paws in tow.
