Days Out Are For Dogs Too

That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A proper country-inn sort of stop, tucked between Scarborough and Whitby with woodland, coast and good walking country all around it. Hayburn Wyke Inn is an 18th-century coaching inn with a traditional pub feel, Yorkshire ales, hearty food and a bar area that welcomes well-behaved dogs inside.
It is the kind of place that suits muddy boots, post-walk appetites and a dog who thinks every firelit pub was built entirely for them. The bar area keeps paws and people together, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle after a coastal ramble.
Very strong "one quick drink" turning into lunch energy, which is exactly what windswept dog walkers and hopeful noses need after tackling the trails around Hayburn Wyke.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside in the bar area, which is exactly what muddy paws and post-walk appetites want to hear. Arrive windswept, settle by a table, and let the pub do the rest.
