That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Inn on the Square's Back Bar is a proper central Keswick pub where dogs are welcome inside alongside their humans. Tucked on Market Square, it offers indoor dog access in both the Front Bar and Back Bar, meaning the whole group can stay together for food and drinks without the usual pavement-waiting shuffle. It's the sort of town-centre stop that works well when you need to sit down mid-wander without splitting up.

Water bowls are on hand and the official policy makes it clear dogs can join guests for food and drinks all day in the bar areas. The Brossen Steakhouse is dogs-off-limits, but the bars themselves are firmly paws-friendly, which matters when you're navigating a Lake District day and need somewhere that genuinely welcomes muddy paws and tangled leads.

Its Market Square location means it's easy to build into a Keswick town stroll or a wet-weather regroup. The indoor welcome runs through the day, so whether you're planning coffee and calm or something more substantial, the Back Bar keeps dog-first planning straightforward and everyone settled under one roof.
