Kingston Russell Stone Circle is a wonderfully wild sort of day out, perched on a hilltop above Abbotsbury with big views towards the sea. This late Neolithic or early Bronze Age circle is made up of 18 fallen stones, and the walk out to it adds to the sense that you have found something ancient and slightly secret. It is free to visit and open in daylight hours, but the setting is remote and exposed, with muddy ground possible in wet weather. Dogs are welcome on leads, which makes it a lovely pick for households who enjoy history with a side of proper countryside leg-stretching.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on leads. It is wild, open, and ancient, which is delightful, but this is not the place for freestyle archaeology by paw.
