Laburnum Inn is a dog-friendly pub on the hillside above Matlock, useful for dog owners visiting Matlock Bath, Matlock and the Derwent Valley. Dogs are welcome inside, so it works as more than a fair-weather stop when outdoor seating has stopped feeling heroic.

This is a drinks-led pub for cask ale, craft beer, lager, wine, spirits and soft drinks, with the kitchen noted as being redeveloped. It is a handy call-in after a walk rather than somewhere to rely on for a full meal unless current food updates say otherwise. The elevated setting also brings wide views from the beer garden.

Practical details are strong here: there is parking at the front of the pub, with nearby street parking too. Water bowls are available, along with towels, blankets and treats, which is useful when the dog has found every damp patch in Derbyshire and still wants to sit under the table.
