Lincoln Castle is a major historic attraction in the heart of Lincoln, with castle grounds, a Victorian Prison and the medieval Wall Walk. The practical advantage is the clarity: dog owners can plan around the access that is confirmed without guessing at the gate.
Normally only accredited assistance dogs are allowed, but the castle runs special dog-friendly days throughout the year when ordinary pet dogs are welcome to join you across the site. On those selected dates, dogs can explore the grounds, climb the Wall Walk and visit the Victorian Prison—giving you a proper day out together rather than leaving them behind.
The castle is open daily except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, with hours from 10am to 5pm in summer and 10am to 4pm in winter. That makes the visit easier to include in a longer dog-friendly day while keeping any stated restrictions in view.
